Senior Portrait Information

Dear Parents, Guardians, and CHS Senior Class –

Congratulations on all you’ve achieved, so far, at Clinton High School! Senior portraits are a great form of self-expression and a celebration of your accomplishments. You will likely have a number of poses and styles taken, some to enlarge and frame, and others to share with family and friends. The CHS Yearbook, however, does have some requirements for senior portrait submissions. Below are the answers to some

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email at jentp@clinton.k12.ma.us, and I will respond as soon as possible.

  • You may use any photographer of your choosing. However, in the past, people have used:

    • Poses that work best are traditional head-and-shoulder.
    • Full length shots may be submitted. However, please note, they may need to be zoomed in, so some detail may be lost. The more a photo is zoomed in, the more the quality of the photo can possibly be degraded.
    • DAYTIME Outdoor and indoor photos are acceptable. No nighttime or neon photography, please. Night photos and neon photography do not work well in the printing process and are not accepted.
    • Neutral, natural, plain, or subdued backgrounds work best. When there is too much going on, it takes away from seeing you.
    • Absolutely NO offensive logos, or t-shirts with writing/slogans, drug/alcohol references, etc (Brand names or logos like Nike, Adidas, Hilfiger, etc are okay.).
    • CHS dress code does apply
    • No props (ie. sports equipment, musical instruments, etc), hats, pets, sunglasses, or soft focus
    • There should be no graffiti in the background
    • No hand gestures
    •  Note: Selfies don’t work well in the book. We need to see your whole face.
    • No use of social media or camera phone filters is allowed. Filters take away from the high definition quality of the photo and they don’t work well with the yearbook software.
    • You or your photographer may submit your photo by emailing it in JPEG/JPG form to Ms. Jent. Please send it in its original size unless the file is larger than 20MB.
    • Photo File must be High Resolution
    •  Photos must be submitted in JPEG/JPG form.
    • Maximum file size is 20 MB. The software will not accept files larger than this.
    •  RGB (Color) file format only. No black and white photography.
    • Only one photo per student.

Make sure the one you submit is the one you want to immortalize in print! Choose wisely!

    • Should the student select/submit a portrait that does not meet these specifications, we reserve the right to reject it.
    • We may ask you to submit an alternate photo if the photo submitted does not meet requirements above.
    • Please Note: If no photo is submitted, or the photo does not meet the above requirements, the school identification photo may be used.
    • Deadline will fall around the middle of November of the student's senior year.
    • Students without photos will have their ID photos used.
